This wine has aromas of vanilla, cherry, blueberry, chocolate and truffle followed by tart cherry, cassis, clove, and pepper flavors with a medium structure and long finish. Smooth up front, with soft tannins that build on the back and mid palate.
The grapes were all cofermented from the same vineyard, with an extended maceration until January before being pressed to barrel.
Pairs with a hearty steak and rich stroganoff. Cheese Pairings: Parmesan, smoked gouda, sharp cheddar are good choices.
Aged in 50% new French and 50% 2nd fill American oak for 20 months.
